Club Fearless Participates in Emirates Environment Group Competition

On 27 November 2017, the Emirates Environment Group held their annual two day Inter-College Public Speaking Competition at the Conference Centre in Dubai’s Knowledge Park.

The competition saw a total of over fifteen competing teams hailing from Universities all over the Middle East – including Oman, Bahrain, Jordan, Palestine, Saudi Arabia and more. There were four competing topics and Middlesex University Dubai’s Public Speaking Club ‘Fearless’ sent two teams to compete.

In Team One, students Narali, Krishnakiran and Rebecca presented on Quality Education, while Team 2, students Asiya, Salma and Meshkat spoke about the key to sustainability being through means of Education, People and Planet, discussing how harmony and collaborations between private, government and education sectors is required for optimal sustainability.

Team Two scored 130 points from the esteemed panel of judges – only 30 points less than the winning team’s score. The presentations were well researched and carried out with confidence, with the students gaining valuable and enriching experience.

The students of the Accounting and Finance Department celebrated the success of the second edition of the Financial Modeling Club (FMC2.0) on 6 March 2024. Led by students, this year’s FMC 2.0 featured four upskilling workshops and two competitions. A total of fifty-five students secured the Foundations Certificate in Financial Modeling, offered by our academic partner, FMI. Special congratulations to Chirag Kherajani for earning the Financial Modeling Institute scholarship for Advanced Financial Modeling certification.
