Middlesex University Dubai Rewards Innovation Initiatives by its Faculty

Middlesex University Dubai recognises and rewards staff members who go beyond the normal requirements of their job to enhance and improve the services offered by the institution through innovative and creative practices. The winners were awarded by Executive Dean Anna Kyprianou at Middlesex University Dubai’s 12th Graduation ceremony.

Innovation Award for Teaching & Learning winners were faculty from the Business School ,Pallavi Kishore, Dr. Vijaya Kumar and Subhadra Satapathy for the biz*buzz  Initiative . The Accounting & Finance department developed a strategic platform in line with the University goal of making our students 100% employable – biz*buzz. Biz Buzz brings together internal faculty and external industry experts ensuring that students learn new things in a ‘fun’ way. All the students had the opportunity to participate in competitions and develop their soft skills which are critical in the current job market. In the maiden year 2017, 4 competitions, 3 intellectual discourse sessions and 1 field visit were organized. The students participated enthusiastically and the winners took home cash prizes.

The students of the Accounting and Finance Department celebrated the success of the second edition of the Financial Modeling Club (FMC2.0) on 6 March 2024. Led by students, this year’s FMC 2.0 featured four upskilling workshops and two competitions. A total of fifty-five students secured the Foundations Certificate in Financial Modeling, offered by our academic partner, FMI. Special congratulations to Chirag Kherajani for earning the Financial Modeling Institute scholarship for Advanced Financial Modeling certification.
