Middlesex University Dubai is experiencing a rise in new applications this year by approximately 30%”. Commenting on the increase of new applications, Professor Raed Awamleh, University Director, said: “It is exciting and rewarding to see Middlesex University Dubai grow this positively over the last eight years. This is a strong vote of confidence from our community. We are looking forward to welcoming our new and returning students on campus this September”.

Middlesex Dubai is one of only few universities in the region that offer much sought-after honours programmes in psychology, counseling, media, international development, TESOL, and education. Furthermore, programmes are offered in business-related disciplines such as marketing, management, accounting (ACCA accredited), project management, finance and human resource management, as well as in computing and informatics disciplines such as information technology and business information systems. All undergraduate programmes at Middlesex University are three-year honours bachelor degrees. New programmes introduced this year include a Master of Arts in Media Management and Master of Science in Project Management.

The origins of Middlesex University London date back to 1878 and it is one of only a handful British Universities to have been awarded three Queen’s anniversary prizes. In 2007, Middlesex was ranked third in London for Teaching and Learning (HEFCE) and the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) rated research at Middlesex as ‘Top 10 among new UK universities’.

The Dubai campus is an integral part of Middlesex University and is subject to the same rigorous quality assurance procedures. The UK’s Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education’s (QAA) has given its top-most rating to Middlesex University in 2009. QAA identified as ‘good practice’ the meticulous attention given to the establishment, development and integration of the University’s Dubai campus. The University was praised for assuring that learning opportunities in Dubai are comparable to those available to students in London. The campus is also licensed by the Dubai government’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA). Furthermore, the University Quality Assurance International Board (UQAIB) at KHDA reviews all programmes on offer in Dubai to ensure that the quality of programmes taught in Dubai are equivalent to those at the home campus in London.
