Middlesex Dubai Welcomes 1000+ New Students

Middlesex University Dubai, London’s first and only university Campus in Dubai inaugurated in December 2004 celebrates 9 years in Dubai. Middlesex in Dubai now boasts well over 2500 students from 90 countries studying across 34 degree programmes ranging from the social sciences, education, psychology, journalism, tourism, business, to information technology. Middlesex University Dubai campus is an integral part of Middlesex University London, subject to the same rigorous quality assurance procedures that have earned Middlesex the highest possible endorsement from the UK’s Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education.

The campus welcomed 26 students in its first intake in January 2005, and in September 2012 saw over 1000 students enroll on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The Dubai campus has seen over 1,800 graduates successfully complete their studies. Wassim Hamadah the Head of Marketing at Middlesex Dubai commented on the rapid growth of the campus: “the growth in student numbers is phenomenal – we have expanded to accommodate the size of our student body, and we predict more expansion in our facilities over the coming year”.

Middlesex University’s quality credentials are outstanding. Middlesex University is audited by the UK’s Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) for Higher Education and the Dubai campus is an integral part of this audit process. The Dubai campus is subject to the same rigorous quality assurance procedures that have earned Middlesex University the highest possible endorsement from the QAA. Middlesex University Dubai is also licensed by the Dubai government’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA). Furthermore, the University Quality Assurance International Board at KHDA reviews all programmes on offer in Dubai to ensure that the quality of programmes taught in Dubai are equivalent to those at the home campus in London. The KHDA certifies the degree awarded to graduates granting them additional recognition in Dubai for employment and further studies. Middlesex programmes have also received industry recognition from Forbes Middle East Magazine in their March 2012 issue ranked the Middlesex MBA as the number one MBA in Dubai.
