MDX hosts the SAGE CIMA Certificate Programme 2015-16

  • Thursday, 1 December 2016

This is a unique study program designed specifically with a view to provide students with a platform to gain valuable experience in real world applications of the SAGE accounting software and enhance their accounting skills at the same time.

The programme is regarded as an industry benchmark as it carries certifications from two extremely well known institutions- CIMA (one of the most regarded names in accounting certifications) and SAGE (most of the small & medium enterprises in UK use this software).

This programme is designed to provide our first year students a firm foundation in computerized accounting on the popular SAGE accounting system.  Students were given a copy of Sage 50 Accounts Professional Software. Along with this, they were also provided access to an Online-learning portal, as this was mostly a self-study program. This portal provided them with study materials, practice tests, formative assessments, examples, quizzes etc. directly from SAGE.

Although, it was a self study program, several drop-in sessions were organized by Ms Pallavi Kishore to make sure that students do not lose track and stay in focus. These sessions also served as a platform to ask questions and discuss issues.

At the completion of the course, SAGE tested participants in an invigilated online test, held on campus. The phenomenal performance is attributed to the hard work and dedication of the students. 68% of the students successfully received SAGE certification, while another 27% received SAGE awareness certificates. This is an accredited benchmarked standards certificate and not purely an academic certificate. It tells potential employers that the candidate already has the required skills and greatly enhances the opportunities for good jobs.
