Accounting and Finance Department organised a Guest Speaker event on the introduction of VAT

Middlesex University Dubai’s Accounting and Finance Department organised a session on ‘Value Added Tax (VAT)’ for Undergraduate Students on 29 October 2017 on campus. Mr. T P Anand, Chartered Accountant and Chief Strategist at Leap Excellence Business Advisory was guest speaker at the event. The session covered the basic concepts of VAT, its calculation, accounting treatment and the implications of the introduction of VAT in the UAE. The event was coordinated by our very own lecturer, Ms. Rashita Puthiya.

The students of the Accounting and Finance Department celebrated the success of the second edition of the Financial Modeling Club (FMC2.0) on 6 March 2024. Led by students, this year’s FMC 2.0 featured four upskilling workshops and two competitions. A total of fifty-five students secured the Foundations Certificate in Financial Modeling, offered by our academic partner, FMI. Special congratulations to Chirag Kherajani for earning the Financial Modeling Institute scholarship for Advanced Financial Modeling certification.
