  • Wednesday, 24 October 2018

Middlesex University Dubai’s International Relations and Global Governance & Sustainable Development Master’s students represented the Institute of Sustainable Development (ISD) competing at the biannual ARABIA CSR Forum and Poster Competition in October 2018.

The CSR Forum focus was on “Driving Innovation through the Sustainable Development Goals”. During the two day event the following topics were covered by high profile guest speakers and panelists:

  • -- Shaping our prospects with sustainable values
  • -- Utilising the SDGs to navigate uncertain times
  • -- Renewable energy - fuelling sustainability
  • -- Innovation and Investment
  • -- Industry 4.0

As part of the Poster Competition, our Middlesex Team brainstormed and presented new concepts on Sustainable values and contributed to framing the sustainability of financial investors.

Vivien Kallen, MA International Relations student remarked “The ability to meet and network with people was excellent. Overall, attending the forum greatly added to the current class curriculum - very strong content, speakers, and attendees.”  Negar Azimi, MA Global Governance and Sustainable Development student added that “The forum was a very well organised and much needed platform that provided an opportunity for different groups ranging from the government, the private sector and students to share knowledge and ideas on our common future.”  Christina Cabrejas, MA International Relations student, also shared “The event was a pool of talented people, passionate about CSR and Sustainability, willing to share a great wealth of knowledge. It was a great opportunity and a privilege to be part of the forum.”
