
Student and Faculty Success at Dubai Lynx 2019

Middlesex University Dubai has been named University of the Year 2019 for Advertising at Dubai Lynx Festival of Creativity.
Middlesex University Dubai was crowned ‘University of the Year’ at the Dubai Lynx Festival of Creativity yesterday at a gala dinner attended by the world’s leading advertising and media agencies. The title was awarded as a result of the University’s students scoring the most points in the Print and Integrated Campaign categories. MDX Dubai had more shortlisted entries than any other university, and its students won the top prizes in both the Dubai Lynx Print and Dubai Lynx Integrated Campaign categories.
Dr Cedwyn Fernandes, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Director of Middlesex University Dubai said “we are extremely proud of our students and their work, and grateful to the award jury for recognising their potential. At Middlesex University Dubai we always aim to put the students first, and I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our faculty and thank each of our industry partners who have visited our campus and have helped these exceptional young people achieve their potential.”
The Dubai Lynx Festival of Creativity is the annual gathering of advertising and media professionals and takes place prior to the global meeting that takes place in July in Cannes. The awards are judged by senior advertising professionals with this year’s jury was led by Kalpesh Patankar, Regional Chief Creative Officer, MENA, VMLY&R Dubai supported by representatives from Impact BBDO, FP7 Tunis, Good People, TBWA/RAAD, and Leo Burnett Beirut.
Middlesex University Dubai was represented by students from its Arts and Design and Media Departments. Six were shortlisted in the Dubai Lynx award categories whilst other students also participated in the MBC Hack challenge.
Faculty included Edward Ryan, Margo Tummel, Nathalie Kachouch and Stephen King.

Rym Farran (Second Year Advertising, PR and Branding) = First and Second Prize in Print Campaign
Riddhi Shah (Second Year Graphic Design) = Third Prize in Print Campaign
Divya Ariga (Third Year Advertising, PR and Branding) = First Prize in Integrated Campaign
Melina Serrao (Second Year Advertising, PR and Branding) = Third Place in Integrated Campaign
Zainab Hatim (Second Year Advertising, PR and Branding) = Member of the winning team for MBC Hack
