DSOA 10X Academy Launch

During the start of the third cohort of ‘DSOA 10X Academy’ at Emirates Towers on 3 October, Middlesex University Dubai received recognition from Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA) for their support with the programme. Judhi Prasetyo, Lecturer in the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics, has been instrumental in building ties with DSOA and also been a mentor and tutor for the DSOA 10X Academy.

The DSOA 10X Academy is a twen week experiential programme for government employees and students to be immersed in a 10X innovation journey to disrupt and address challenges facing the world. Throught the programme, the participants learn about innovation methodologies and emerging technologies that would help them navigate and produce disruptive innovations.

For the past two years, Middlesex University Dubai has taken part in empowering the programme by providing mentorship, training facilities, designing, and building prototypes. Ghanim Al Falasi, Senior Vice Presidence of People, Happiness and Innovation (Corporate Services of DSOA) said that he is looking forward to continuing the collaboration for the third year. Dr Fehmida Hussain, Head of Computer Engineering and Informatics, expressed her appreciation and gratitude for the trust and confidence placed by the DSOA in the University’s team of lecturers, researchers and students to take part in such an important programme.

The students of the Accounting and Finance Department celebrated the success of the second edition of the Financial Modeling Club (FMC2.0) on 6 March 2024. Led by students, this year’s FMC 2.0 featured four upskilling workshops and two competitions. A total of fifty-five students secured the Foundations Certificate in Financial Modeling, offered by our academic partner, FMI. Special congratulations to Chirag Kherajani for earning the Financial Modeling Institute scholarship for Advanced Financial Modeling certification.
