  • Monday, 7 October 2019

Middlesex University Dubai will be bidding a fond farewell to Dr Lien Els, Associate Professor and Campus Programme Coordinator for the MA Human Resource Management and Development programme, through a special last lecture on Saturday 5 October 2019 at 10:30am in the University’s Oasis Theatre.

The lecture titled, ‘Impact of Megatrends on Millennials in the Workplace’, will be open to all, as Dr Els sheds light on how millennials are soon to become the biggest workforce since the Baby Boomers after World War II. It will also emphasise how megatrends are formed and how they impact Millennials in the workplace.

Dr Cedwyn Fernandes, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Director of Middlesex University Dubai, said “Dr Lien Els has had a profoundly positive impact on her students, with more than 300 HR professionals earning their degrees and learning the values of authentic leadership in Human Resource Management. She is one of the most dedicated academics I have encountered, and it has been a pleasure to work with her for the past decade.”

“On behalf of everyone at the University, I wish Dr Lien all the best as she retires and moves back home to South Africa to be with her family,” he added.

Dr Lien Els holds a PhD from the University of Pretoria and is a member of the Chartered Institute for Personnel Development (CIPD, UK), the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM, US) and the South African Business Council in Dubai (SABCo). Under her leadership, the MA People Management and Development programme at Middlesex University Dubai has become one of the most reputed Master’s programmes in the region.
