The students of 2nd year BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance attempted the Intermediate Level Exam of the Accounting Software, SAGE 50 ACCOUNTS, on 24th September, 2019, in the Middlesex University Dubai’s Campus. The exam was conducted by Ms. Huma Ishtiyaq Shaafie of the Department of Accounting and Finance.

The exam was MCQ based in nature and had a time limit of 1.5 hours. Topics such as various Accounting adjustments, Bank Reconciliation and Revenue and expenditure cycle were tested.

16 students passed the online exam with impressive results and can now opt for the Advanced Level Exam of the SAGE 50 Accounts Software. The students were acknowledged for their achievement by receiving a ‘CIMA Accredited SAGE Certificate’ in the ‘SAGE Award Ceremony’ which took place on Campus on 27th November, 2019. Many thanks to Pro-Vice Chancellor and Director, Dr. Cedwyn Fernandes for sharing this moment with the awardees and encouraging them to achieve greater heights.

Having a practical experience of using Accounting Software at the University level, adds a valuable input to a student’s resume. The Department of Accounting and Finance has included various Accounting software in the curriculum of Year 1, 2 and 3 of the BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance programme. This is to ensure the technical proficiency of the students, on entering the job market.
