Become Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) qualified with Middlesex University Dubai

CIPD is the world’s leading professional organisation for Human Resources (HR) practitioners. We are proud to be a CIPD Approved Study Centre and offer their globally recognised Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice.

You don’t need any experience to take the certificate, as the course will help you build the critical foundational knowledge and skills needed to start your HR career. You will be assessed through a series of coursework and be able to fit the course around work and personal commitments.

PROGRAMME DELIVERY

The CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice is designed to be flexible and accessible to suit different learning preferences and professional commitments. The programme is delivered in the following formats:

  • In-Person (Classroom-Based Learning)
    • Delivered at Dubai Knowledge Park 
    • Offers face-to-face interaction with MDX CIPD Faculty and peers
    • Includes workshops, group discussions, and case study activities
  • Online Learning
    • 25% of the course is virtual, allowing learners to study from anywhere
    • Includes live instructor-led sessions and self-paced learning materials
    • Uses an online learning platform for resources, assignments, and discussions

Who will I be taught by?

Claudia Maher

Head of CIPD Study Centre     
Claudia holds a master’s degree in human resources management and a master’s in Higher Education from Middlesex University, and a BA Honours in Business Management (Human Resources) from the University of East London. She is also a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (UK) (FCIPD), has completed the Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education (PG Cert) and is FHEA and Prince2 certified. Claudia’s learning and teaching interests include all areas of HR, including Total Reward – Financial Management, Compensation and Benefits, Transformation of Leadership, The Employee Experience, Talent Acquisition, and Academic Writing. She is currently undertaking her PhD research in acting pedagogy in leadership and management.

Thenji Moyo

Partner and Head of the Employment practice at Gateley LLP     
Thenji is an admitted UK employment solicitor who has been based in the UAE for ten years working predominantly on contentious and non-contentious employment matters within local and international firms, she advises on complex employment issues which include global mobility of employees, workplace investigations, cross-jurisdictional matters including temporary assignment, secondment, cross border engagements.    

Thenji is an adjunct employment law lecturer at MDX Dubai and an active volunteer lawyer within various pro bono clinics.

Carmen Rendi

Managing Partner, Divergent Line HR consultants     
Carmen holds a master’s degree in HR from Middlesex University Dubai, and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (UK) (FCIPD). She brings academic credentials but also a dedication to continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
