Faranak Berenjan
Founder, ENAYA Education
Faranak is Director of Inclusion at the Australian International School in Dubai, as well as founder of her own educational consultation firm ENAYA Education. ENAYA Education helps to provide comprehensive resources for parents and educators devoted to their wellbeing.
Dr Jarred Blackmer
CEO and Owner, STEPS International
Dr Jarred holds a Doctorate in Educational Psychology, and launched his business STEPS International to provide travelling educational psychology services to international schools who don’t have access to similar services, allowing parents to seek testing for children who may have learning disabilities or may be considered gifted.
Sophie Azoury
Academic Director, The Tutoring Club
As an alumnus of the MDX MA Education programme, Sophie knows better than most how much Middlesex University Dubai values the advancement of education.
She is currently working as Academic Director of the Tutoring Club, providing academic guidance and coaching students through the university application process.
Mufida Al-Digeil
Curriculum Planning and Instructional Coach, Department of Education and Knowledge
Mufida has an impressive 21-year journey in UAE education across esteemed British, IB, and American schools. Mufida's expertise extends to consulting and coaching Arabic and Islamic departments within schools, making her a catalyst for positive change in education.
Reem Rekieh
Secondary Vice Principal at Al Yasat Private School
Reem Rekieh received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology specializing in Education from York University. She completed her Postgraduate Certificate in Education with the University of Warwick in England with distinction, as well as her Masters in Innovation in Education. Her thesis focused on the effectiveness of assessment for learning strategies on improving students’ writing particularly in the UAE.
WORKSHOP
We’ll also have a workshop during which you can experience a taste of Kagan cooperative learning strategies. Using the four basic principles of cooperative learning, you will learn how to:
- Boost student learning and engagement
- Build strong relationships
- Provide students with the will to work together and the skills to do so successfully
Learn the difference between engaging some and engaging all students. Walk away with ready-to-use instructional strategies in your classroom.
Dr Ambreen Mohammad
Adjunct Lecturer in Education, Middlesex University Dubai
Before working in academia, Dr Ambreen Mohammad was the vice principal of two K-12 international schools in the UAE.
Ambreen has consulted international edtech organisations and has served as a professional development designer and facilitator across the UAE and Asia. She is also a certified Kagan instructional coach.
In 2018, Ambreen was awarded the Innovation and Creativity Award for her work in increasing student engagement.
POSTER PRESENTATION
Towards the end of the evening, some of our guests will showcase their findings and research during a poster presentation. Academic poster sessions offer a platform for researchers, scholars, and attendees to connect, share ideas, and build professional understanding of specialised topics, and you are welcome to engage and ask questions.
Safia Saeed
Special Needs Educator
Safia is a passionate educator with 11+ years’ experience. She is an expert in conducting standardised assessments and support students with various learning methods. Safia will present findings from her dissertation.
Ridhi Mitra
Head of Foundation Stage 2, Al Salam Community School
Ridhi is an early years specialist and Hygge Certified practitioner currently working with foundation stage students and studied a postgraduate degree in Education specialising in Leadership and Management from MDX.
Sophie Azoury
