Statement against Racism and Discrimination

Diversity and Inclusion at Middlesex University Dubai

As a University committed to diversity and inclusion, we reaffirm our conviction that racism will not be tolerated in any form. Diversity and inclusivity are the cornerstones of our Mission statement, and we take these very seriously in everything that we do. We are a diverse campus with students from over 100 nationalities and staff members from over 40 countries.

In the United Arab Emirates, we are fortunate to be living in a tolerant society that hosts residents from around the world. The UAE has promoted non-discriminatory laws and policies for peaceful co-existence and sustainable society.

These values are similarly reflected in our University’s codes for student conduct and staff conduct , and in our initiatives and events. Some of our work has been recognised by the KHDA in their Higher Education Classifications Ratings, where Middlesex University Dubai was awarded 5-star(highest rating) in the criteria for ‘Inclusiveness’.

We continue to advance our values of tolerance, diversity, multiculturalism and inclusivity. If a student experiences or notices any behaviour that we feel is inappropriate–these should be reported via the University’s complaints and grievances procedures. Our staff and student communities can call out discrimination or racism if we see it within our diverse University community. Similarly, our student community can reach out to the Quality Office ([email protected]), who can offer relevant support under our Care and Concern framework.
