Redemption Arc

About the Collection

My whole project was based around the concept of a redemption arc. A redemption arc refers to the shift in a character’s behaviour and actions from negative to positive; this can be due to certain events or a change of heart. We can see the stages of a redemption arc throughout the collection as the first set is distressed with raw edges to show anger and frustration within oneself. This is followed by some pieces that are joined with patchwork and introductions of the colour white, which signifies the peace and change of heart or, specifically, the moment of the redemption arc. Finally, the last pieces are all white to show the final stage of the redemption arch, which is peace and healing. We can see some pieces of all stages of the redemption arc in my final garments.
