Sirens Veil

About the Collection

Sirens and their alter egos are the inspiration for this collection. While sirens are usually veiled, striving to keep their evil aspect from showing, they have a highly graceful and feminine side as well as a sinister, manipulating side. People also have alter egos, attempting to be something or someone else, aside from sirens. My intention is to highlight the siren’s graceful and alluring aspects, as well as how it conceals its darker side to keep it hidden. I decided to use upcycling and recycling techniques, turning an old hoodie of mine into a very cropped hoodie with an oversized hood to cover the face.  For the dress, I used an old black lace table cover from my Grandma to give it an evil appearance.
