Accounting and Finance students explore world of banking with Emirates NBD

Middlesex University Dubai conducted the Banker for a Day programme in collaboration with Emirates NBD on 12th May 2022. The session was held virtually and was very well attended by 40+ Year 1 and IFP Accounting and Finance students. The speakers included Amitabh De, Manager Regulatory Compliance/ Monitoring and Assurance/ FATCA and CRS; Wajd Mohammed Abduh Alhashmi, Manager - Consumer Education and Awareness; and Muhammed Ali Hussain, Head of Regulatory Compliance and Assurance.
The session educated the students about financial literacy and saving and investing early in their career. The importance of financial wellness and various ways to detect and prevent fraud were also discussed. The second half of the session focused on security, compliance and data analytics. The session introduced students to the intricacies in the world of compliance and money laundering.
The programme was a great opportunity for the students to apply their theoretical knowledge to the practical world. Many thanks to Ms Huma Shaafie fororganising this event in collaboration with ENBD.
