Careers and Employability Team Host the Careers Bootcamp

On 25th January 2023, the Careers and Employability Team at Middlesex University Dubai hosted three engaging and interactive sessions with the goal of preparing our students for successful employment; Part of MDX's overall goal is to make our students 100% employable.
135 students joined in, hearing inspiring talks and engaging in practice exercises geared towards getting prepared for interviews and employment. They were then presented with a booklet to note down all of their key takeaways from the sessions.
The bootcamp started off with a talk led by Mr. Mohammad Meraj and Ms. Amanda Fernandes on seven career-based resolutions that students can make to boost their professional profile. This was followed by an informative session on creating a great elevator pitch, a skill that every jobseeker must master. The bootcamp ended with students gaining knowledge on the different types of skills assessment tests that top employers use to test the cognitive, deductive, and numerical abilities of job applicants.
The Careers Bootcamp virtual and in-person sessions were organised to educate and encourage students to showcase their skills and competencies to potential employers in the best way possible, ahead of the MDX Career Fairs 2023 which are expected to host over 100 organisations in a 2-day format. These events are a part of the Employability Expo 2023, running alongside the MDXcelerator Programme, a project that aims to nurture our student community's entrepreneurial potential.
