Middlesex University Dubai is proud to announce the Fifth Emerging Research Paradigms in Business and Social Sciences (ERPBSS) conference. The international conference will be held from 14th to 16th January, 2020 at Middlesex University Dubai Campus in Knowledge Park, Dubai. Over the last nine years, our biennial conference, one of the highlights of the University’s calendar, has attracted hundreds of delegates from leading institutions from around the UAE and more than fifty other countries. The interdisciplinary conference provides a platform for researchers and practitioners to communicate their findings and engage in meaningful discourse with professionals from different fields, and foster local and international collaborations.
Call for Papers
ERPBSS-2020 Conference Theme
Middlesex University Dubai prides itself in its commitment to Corporate Responsibility, Sustainable Development and Inclusivity. As we live during an exciting time of increased mobility and the multitude of opportunities afforded by technological innovations, globalization, and economic development, we must consider how our research can not only inform this bright future, but also contribute to and ensure that we are working towards a sustainable future. We hope that this conference provides a platform for sharing impactful and use-inspired research that addresses the increasingly complex global and local challenges in a sustainable manner.
The ERPBSS 2020 conference theme is aligned with the Dubai EXPO 2020 themes of Sustainability, Mobility and Opportunity.
Sustainability – Use-inspired and applied research that informs, reflects upon, and contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Mobility – Research focused on the smarter and more efficient movement of knowledge, ideas, people and goods.
Opportunity – Impact research focused on creating a better world for everyone through technology and innovation, and addressing social issues such as education, healthcare, employment, equality, quality of life, and health and well-being.
The conference hopes to engage participants from multiple disciplines on a range of emerging topics that engage with sub-themes that include but not limited to Inclusivity, Tolerance, Empowerment, Creativity, Happiness, and Innovation.
Abstract Submission
The conference encourages the submission of completed or ongoing conceptual or empirical research papers, articles, and case studies from both academics and research students. We also welcome results/insights from industry practitioners and creative scholarly outputs.
Authors wishing to present at the conference are invited to submit an extended abstract (750-1000 words). Presentation formats include oral and poster presentation.
Abstracts must be submitted electronically using the link https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=erpbss2020 by 10 December 2019 for consideration by the programme committee.
All authors will be informed before 20 December 2019 after the peer-review process whether their abstract has been accepted.

Post-Conference Publications Opportunities
Selected papers will be invited to submit to Special Issues. A number of Special Issues will be edited for select SCOPUS Indexed journals around core themes of the conference.
