On 1 February 2024, Middlesex University Dubai were proud to formalise a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between eSafe, Tachyon IT Consultancy, TECHx Media and Middlesex University Dubai. The MoU acknowledges that the eSafe Child Online Protection Award 2023 and STOGO FEST events will be hosted at the Middlesex University Dubai in a collaborative move between all parties towards advancing online safety for children while nurturing their online creativity.
Under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mabarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence for the UAE, the MoU marks an important step for the University and for the region to build upon the efforts to protect our young minds in their creative endeavours.
STOGO FEST is an international platform celebrating innovation in young students around the world. The festival aims to bring together a diverse demographic of participants from different backgrounds and cultures, to encourage students to push themselves out of their comfort zone and come up with truly innovative ideas. The eSafe Child Online Protection Award 2023 acknowledges outstanding contributions by educational institutions in fostering digital wellbeing among children. Both events will be held at the Middlesex University Dubai Knowledge Park campus on 22 and 23 March 2024 respectively.
Professor Cedwyn Fernandes, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Director at Middlesex University Dubai said: “Ensuring the safety of young people and students remains a top priority in every decision we make as a university. Our commitment to student well-being extends to both the physical and virtual realms, exemplified by this partnership with the eSafe Child Online Protection Award 2023 and STOGO FEST. By signing this MoU, and as the chosen host venue for these significant upcoming events, Middlesex University Dubai is proving our dedication to providing a nurturing and safe space for student innovation and creation.”
Jayesh Sebastian, Founder of STOGO FEST and CMD at Tachyon IT Consultancy said: “In our role as the primary conceptualiser of STOGO FEST, Tachyon aims to revolutionize the way children engage with the digital realm. We believe in not only shielding them from potential online risks but also harnessing the power of technology to foster their creativity. STOGO FEST is a testament to our commitment to shaping a digital landscape where children can thrive, innovate, and contribute positively.”
Middlesex University Dubai is proud to be part of this established partnership between eSafe, Tachyon IT Consultancy and TECHx Media, and looks forward to the upcoming events on campus.
