- Wednesday, 18 January 2023
Financial literacy is a crucial life-skill to possess, and Middlesex University Dubai was delighted to welcome Ms. Marilyn from KFI Global to facilitate a very engaging and interactive 2-day workshop for 50 students, focusing on money management and making smart financial decisions.
Day 1 of the Financial Education Programme was an insightful session that covered a range of topics on understanding personal finance, good debt & bad debt, the difference between needs and wants, and how psychology plays a role in influencing financial decisions.
On the second day of the workshop, students got the opportunity to put their knowledge and learnings from day 1 to practical use through an engaging budgeting activity that gave students an idea about what their financial priorities should be. Students were able to relate to the speaker through personal experiences that Ms. Marilyn shared. Through this 2-day workshop, students were able to build financial literacy skills to have a more holistic educational experience, with practical takeaways that can be used in their practical lives.
This programme was fully sponsored by Dubai Islamic Bank, in keeping with its mission to spread financial literacy across the nation’s youth and organised by the Careers and Employability Services Department of Middlesex University Dubai.
