ABRIC 2024 Celebrates Collaboration Between MDX Dubai and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM)

Middlesex University (MDX) Dubai were proud to co-organise the Advances in Business Research International Conference (ABRIC 2024), held on 30 May 2024 in Penang, Malaysia. Hosted in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), this event marked the sixth edition of the ABRIC series, and served as a global platform for academics, scholars, researchers, and industry professionals to share their research findings, ideas, and experiences.
The conference theme, “Harmony in Progress: Navigating Digital Horizons, Sustainable Transformation, and Business Education,” emphasised achieving unified progress in business by embracing digital advancements, implementing sustainable strategies, and fostering continuous learning and growth through education. This successful joint conference stemmed from a long-standing MoU between UiTM and MDX Dubai.
Dr Sreejith Balasubramanian, Associate Professor, Chair, Office of Research of Middlesex University Dubai, led the doctoral colloquium at ABRIC and delivered a keynote address titled "Adoption of Artificial Intelligence in the Public Sector: The Case of the United Arab Emirates" during the ABRIC2024 Pre-Conference Series: Collaborators Expert Talks. Dr Nitin Vihari, Senior Lecturer and Campus Programme Coordinator for MA Human Resource Management and Development also presented his research paper at the conference.
This event marks the third joint international academic conference co-organised by MDX Dubai in the 2023-24 academic year. Earlier in the year, the university collaborated on the Sustainability, Entrepreneurship, Equity, and Digital Strategies (SEED2023) international conference with Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida, and the International Conference (ICACCF 2023) on Transformation for Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Value Creation with Amity University, India.
At MDX Dubai, the commitment to internationalisation in research remains a key priority. These collaborations foster a vibrant global community, promote knowledge exchange, and drive innovation, aligning with the university's 2031 strategy.
