Fashion Students Make a Mark at The International Fashion Runway
- Wednesday, 19 February 2025
The 2nd edition of the International Fashion Runway (IFR) 2025 showcased some of the brightest emerging talents in the fashion world, with Middlesex University (MDX) Dubai students taking centre stage.
The event, which took place on 8 February at the Dubai World Trade Centre, provided a platform for fashion students to present their work on an international level, demonstrating both their creativity and technical skills.
The IFR is a platform for both emerging and established designers, showcasing the latest trends in luxury fashion, with a dynamic lineup of celebrated fashion bloggers and influential personalities from the UAE stepping onto the runway.
Led by Vaishali Raj, Senior Fashion Lecturer, MDX Dubai, and The Icon Studio team, MDX Fashion students presented The Nomads of the Future: a collection that fused the UAE's Bedouin heritage with the country's forward-thinking architectural and technological advancements.
The concept, which was in line with the event's theme of ‘Futurism’, was introduced through a video produced by fashion faculty Andrea Sequeira, followed by a runway show that left a lasting impression on the audience.
The MDX Dubai showcase was honoured with the ‘finale spot’, with the closing segment featuring over 50 models and students, presenting their designs to the audience.
Content creators Hala Owais and Adnan Zafar added glamour to the finale, bringing additional attention to the students’ work through their significant social media presence.
IFR 2025 was another opportunity to showcase MDX Dubai’s growing reputation in the fashion industry. Applications are now open to join BA Honours Fashion programme, apply today.
