Marriott International and MDX Dubai empower student careers at Summer Employability Festival

Middlesex University Dubai takes pride in supporting the professional growth of its students and providing them with the tools they need to succeed in the competitive job market, so that they graduate 100% employable. To further this goal, the Career and Employability Services (CES) hosted Marriott International for a networking session on 7th June 2023. This was part of the Step Up, Stand Out! Summer Employability Festival running from June to August 2023.

Over 50 alumni and students attended the event to learn about the excellent employment and training opportunities offered by Marriott International, a leader in the hospitality sector, with over 8,100 properties and 31 brands worldwide. The informative session enabled participants to learn about the diverse career pathways available at Marriott International and meet with senior leaders from the organisation. From operations and management to marketing and finance, the career pathways offered by Marriott presented recent alumni and our graduating students with an array of exciting full-time paid prospects.

The Step Up, Stand Out! Summer Employability Festival organised by CES is designed to empower students and alumni with valuable insights, networking opportunities, and resources to enhance their employability. By combining engaging workshops, industry panels, networking events, and recruitment opportunities, the festival equips attendees with essential skills, knowledge, and connections to thrive in their chosen careers. Through this initiative, the university reaffirms its commitment to nurturing well-rounded students who are ready to contribute to the ever-evolving job market in Dubai and beyond.

Step Up, Stand Out! builds on the CES team’s wide range of initiatives that it offers to current students and recent alumni throughout the academic year, including skills workshops for CV writing, using LinkedIn effectively and networking, access to jobs and internships, and career planning guidance. The CES team works to empower students to take advantage of opportunities outside the classroom and build on their academic knowledge with real-life experience for their CVs.
