Middlesex University Dubai Students Win Big PRCA MENA Award
- Friday, 26 April 2024
Three students from Middlesex University (MDX) Dubai bagged the prestigious Best Student Campaign award at the 2024 PRCA MENA Awards, held on 25 April at the Taj Dubai, Business Bay. Zuha Ansar, Sahana Rais, and Nami Arujo, all second-year students enrolled in the BA Hons Advertising, PR, and Branding programme, were honoured for their exceptional work on a mock campaign developed for the Theatre of Digital Arts (TODA). This campaign was significant for the integration of various generative AI tools within the design of advertising creatives.
Additionally, three other teams of MDX’s advertising, PR, and branding students were shortlisted in the same category, and third-year Dellaney Bothello was also highlighted in the ‘Best Intern’ category. The students were presented with the award by Theogenes Alexius, Head of Corporate and Brand Partnerships, at the Theatre of Digital Art.
All students were mentored by MDX Media Department's Senior Lecturer Stephen King, whose research agenda addresses the intersection of digital media and communications. His expertise lies at the intersection of digital media and communications, making him instrumental in preparing students for the dynamic landscape of the industry.
Reflecting on the achievement, Stephen King said, “New generations of artificial intelligence tools have kick-started a race for relevance in the communications industry. We are all deeply honoured by this recognition, which places our students and teaching among the early pace setters. I look forward to seeing where this exciting journey takes us."
This most recent achievement marks another incredible year for students enrolled in the IAA accredited BA Hons Advertising, PR, and Branding programme at Middlesex University Dubai. Just last week, Jivika Gangwani, a third-year student, made it to the final ten of the UAE heat of the TiE Dubai entrepreneurship competition. Earlier in January, Ninoscha Mendoza played a key role in the winning team at the Dubai Lynx Creative Student Hackathon. Also, Dellaney Bothello and Marion Colaco were highly commended in the global ICCO PR Student World Cup last year.
The BA Hons Advertising, PR, and Branding programme at Middlesex University Dubai is accredited by the International Advertising Association (IAA), the world’s most influential network of marketing and communications professionals.
