Responsible Sourcing Hackathon a Resounding Success
- Tuesday, 6 February 2024
Middlesex University Dubai, in partnership with Accenture and Red Sea Global, were proud to host the Responsible Sourcing Hackathon – a high profile competition aimed at driving innovation in responsible purchasing practices.
With many conversations happening globally regarding the ethical practices applied to the supply chain and logistics, this relevant event aimed to highlight key insights such as the significant increase in CEOs determining their strategies based upon responsible sourcing and localising their supply chains.
The finale of the Hackathon was held on 30 January 2024 at Middlesex University Dubai and saw the participation of both undergraduate and postgraduate students from multiple disciplines working in 10 teams across the day. Having already attended an information session on 18 January 2024, the teams arrived ready to launch straight into their challenges, and network with professionals from Accenture and Red Sea Global.
The event was not just a competition but a real-world collaborative effort to develop the most optimal responsible sourcing framework for Red Sea Global. Participants gained critical knowledge and practical experience about balancing economic, environmental, social, and ethical aspects in strategic business and procurement decisions. This hands-on event helped in honing key employability skills such as teamwork, leadership, communication, and critical thinking.
Winning teams received exciting cash prizes and certificates.
