ERPBSS 2024 Celebrates Success at the Seventh International Conference on Emerging Research Paradigms in Business and Social Sciences

The Seventh International Conference on Emerging Research Paradigms in Business and Social Sciences (ERPBSS 2024) was held from13 May to15 May at MDX Dubai Knowledge Park Campus, marking the largest and most successful edition in its 13-year history.

The core pillars of sustainability: people, planet, and profit were explored at the conference and aligned to address present and future challenges. This year’s conference featured 30 parallel sessions, including 9 virtual and 21 in-person, showcasing over 150 presentations across 12 tracks. With more than 350 presenters, authors, and speakers from over 30 countries, the event emphasised the theme ‘Sustainability Revisited: Adapting to a New Global Landscape.’

The conference highlighted a diverse array of multidisciplinary papers, emphasising the high quality of research presented. Tracks included 1 general, 1 student, and 10 special tracks, with significant participation from MDX Dubai, featuring 35 faculty and staff, 30 students and alumni, and 4 faculty members from the Hendon campus.
Keynote addresses were delivered by industry leaders Dr Vinnie Jauhari from Microsoft and Dina Mongy from Nestlé, providing insightful perspectives on current sustainability trends and future directions. Additionally, a workshop on AI tools for research was facilitated by Dr Supriya Kaitheri, Sony Sreejith, and Stephen King. A panel discussion on Building Resilient Talent Strategies for the Future Workplace, led by Dr Nitin Vihari and Dr Sheldon Carvalho, was another highlight of the event.

The external attendees appreciated the warm hospitality extended by MDX Dubai and enjoyed the social events that included a trip to the Museum of the Future and a networking gala dinner that added a unique aspect to the conference experience.

ERPBSS was organised and managed by the Conference Chairs, Dr Sreejith Balasubramanian and Dr Supriya Kaitheri and were well supported by the Programme Committee and track chairs. Commenting on the success of the event, Professor Cedwyn Fernandes, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Middlesex University and Director of Middlesex University Dubai said: “I have been immensely impressed by the diversity and high calibre of the submissions we have received, both regionally and internationally”. This conference theme, "Sustainability Revisited: Adapting to a New Global Landscape," aligns with Middlesex University's Strategy for 2031, which focuses on fostering knowledge that contributes to equitable, healthy, and sustainable societies.

Middlesex University Dubai’s Office of Research continues to support faculty and student research, with several exciting events planned for the year, including Faculty and Student Summer Research Boot Camps. These initiatives endorse MDX Dubai’s commitment to advancing research and achieving new milestones in academic excellence.
