MDX Mooting Society Ranked Number One in the UAE

MDX Mooting Society has achieved the #1 ranking in the UAE for Mooting and #20 in Mediation and Negotiation in the World. This is an incredible achievement and a testament to the hard work, dedication, and talent of our faculty members at the Department of Law & Politics (Dubai) and our outstanding students.

The league table was published by the NICA Team Ranking which is one of the most prominent law school rankings in the world. In 2022, they analysed the participation of more than 1700 schools in international and national moot court competitions. 

Since its inception in 2018, the MDX Mooting Society has been recognised for its outstanding initiatives in advancing advocacy skills, legal knowledge, and critical thinking abilities. Through its commitment to excellence in preparing for and participating in local, regional and international moot competitions, the MDX Mooting Society has seen an incredible increase in the number of student members over the past few years currently reaching almost 300 members. The MDX Mooting Society is essentially a student-led society within the Department of Law & Politics that provides opportunities for law students to engage in simulated legal arguments or "moots" based on hypothetical legal cases. The primary role of the Mooting Society is to enhance students' advocacy and legal skills by offering a platform to practice legal arguments, research and analyse case law and develop persuasive oral and written communication skills.

We would like to congratulate all of our members on this remarkable achievement. Your active engagement, contributions, and teamwork have been instrumental in achieving this success. We would also like to thank our committed industry partners who are critical in providing mentorship, support and guidance throughout.

This ranking is a recognition of the quality of legal education and training provided by the Department of Law & Politics at Middlesex University Dubai, and we aim to continue to build on this success. It is also a reflection of the strength and effectiveness of the student-led Mooting Society committee which is responsible for initiating and coordinating all events.
