Middlesex University Dubai Students Triumph at Business Case Study Challenge

A team of business students from Middlesex University (MDX) Dubai won the Business Case Study Challenge 2024-25 earlier this month.
The team, known as Catalyst Crew, emerged victorious in the competitive final round held at MDX Dubai on 11 February 2025, beating eight teams from various UAE universities.
Third-year students Maria Masoom, Fariz Shehab, Aarushi Prasad, and Astrid Dsouza triumphed over finalist teams from Heriot-Watt University, University of Wollongong, Curtin University, De Montfort University, and Amity University, which had all advanced from over 40 participating teams.
The case study challenge from the Harvard Business Review focused on the fast fashion industry, consisting of two rounds requiring analysis across various disciplines including e-commerce, sustainability, supply chain management, marketing, finance, ethics, HR, fashion, and the role of technology.
The event, co-ordinated by Muneeza Shoaib, Senior Marketing Lecturer, MDX Dubai, included an expert judging panel, which evaluated the teams based on their innovative presentations.
The panel consisted of influential industry leaders Ayesha Rashid, Chief Strategy Officer, GMS; Hassan Abbas, CEO, Conformity Compliance Solutions; Zehra Rizvi, Commercial Development Team Lead, Nestlé; Shaikh Fahad, Marketing and Communications Manager, Arena Europe; Anurudh Sharma, E-Commerce Manager, Perfetti Van Melle; and Muhammad Abdul Ahkam, Consumer Insights Manager, Americana Foods.
The event also featured a keynote address delivered by Ayesha Rashid on "Navigating the Future: Tomorrow’s Lessons," providing insights into the trends shaping the future of business, digital transformation, and evolving customer experiences.
The success of this competition highlighted the outstanding capabilities of the students and reflects the tremendous efforts of MDX Dubai's faculty members.
