Hey guys! This is Naba from the BSc Honours Business Information Systems here at Middlesex University Dubai. I have just completed Year 2 and will be starting Year 3 soon. In this post, I will be sharing my typical day as a student at MDX Dubai.

8:00AM: After my morning routine, I head to catch the metro to the Dubai Internet City metro station, which is the closest station to the university’s Dubai Knowledge Park campus. Dubai is a multicultural hub, and the ride on the metro provides a scenic view of the city. From the metro, I can see Marina Mall, Emirates Golf Club and Dubai Marina (to name a few).

As a student, I get to avail the Student Nol Card (a travel card), which helps me save up a little so that I can splurge on coffee.

8:20AM: From the metro station, I reach university by the metro shuttle service provided.

8:30AM: I have reached my class. I exchange pleasantries with my classmates and get set for my lecture, followed by a lab session. Today we are learning about AI and Machine Learning.

11:30AM: After my lecture and lab session, I head to the Block 16 lobby to check out the stalls that the different social clubs have put up, with activities for students to participate in.

12:00PM: Followed by a fun round of games at each stall, I am starving, so I decide to head to the food court and catch up with my friends.

12:45PM: I go to the session I booked at the Careers department for a quick CV review. The Careers department representative helps me tweak my CV.

1:00PM: I am the co-coordinator for the Culinary Club, which is a student-managed club for individuals who are interested in all things food. My coordinator and I have scheduled a meeting to discuss the upcoming events we plan to host for the upcoming week for our club. Being a coordinator has helped me sharpen my leadership and time management skills. I also get the chance to socialise through participating in club related activities.

2:00PM: I then quickly make my way to the Marketing Office where I work as a Marketing Intern. As an intern, I get to hone my social and professional skills. Today we have an Open Evening at 4:00PM, where students and their families come to campus and learn how they can become part of MDX Dubai.

4:00PM: After prepping for the Open Evening, I meet my friends who will be volunteering with me today. We get a quick briefing for the evening and are then all set for the event.

8:00PM: After the Open Evening, my friends and I decide to walk along Dubai Marina and try out new restaurants in the area.

It was certainly another long yet fun day on campus. The part I love the most about studying at MDX is that no two days are the same, thanks to the events and activities happening all throughout the academic year.

I hope this gave you a little insight into what your day look could look like as a student at MDX, and I hope you enjoy your time here as much as I do.
