Matthew Brown MA, BA (Hons), HND, Dip PolGov (Open), PGCHE, MCIM, MIDM, FCMI, FHEA

Biography

Matt Brown holds numerous qualifications across Marketing and Management, including a Master’s in Management from London South Bank University, and a Diploma in Strategic Direction and Leadership (Level 8) from the Chartered Management Institute. He is a Fellow the Chartered Management Institute (FCMI) and a Full Member of both the Chartered Institute of Marketing (MCIM) and The Institute of Data & Marketing (MIDM).

Matt authors a book for the Chartered Institute of Marketing entitled ‘Innovation in Marketing’ to accompany the CIM’s module on this subject, he has also written published material for the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) concerning the measurement of internal communications.

Also, Matt is former Director of Professional Studies at the University of Buckingham, specialising in digital marketing and international marketing.  Prior to moving into academia, he was the Head of Global Business Development for the Linguaphone Group, an international language training organisation.  Matt was an independent marketing consultant working largely in the Middle East with organisations such as Samba Bank in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Qatar Petroleum, Doha.  

Matt began his career as a Regional Education Manager for the Chartered Institute of Marketing, running the operations for CIM throughout sub-Saharan Africa as well as taking on a role in politics as an Association Chairman for the Liberal Democrats in the UK.

Matt is also the Head of the University’s Chartered Institute of Marketing CIM programmes, supporting students, alumni and industry professionals in achieving their professional marketing qualifications www.mdx.ac.ae/cim-accredited
